Shoes!!!

My favorite thing to talk about :)

I started my search for shoes as soon as I found my dress. I'll admit, while trying on dresses I was secretly thinking to myself "I wonder what kind of shoes would go with this dress" Of course Tony says "why does it matter, you can't see them anyhow!" Even if you can't see them under the dress, they'll still make you feel good! Especially for us short peeps!

So, after I found the dress I began my daily search for shoes. This searching only lead to the idea of having more than one pair. One for the ceremony, a pair of boots for in between the ceremony and reception- Hello! It'll be winter! I can't be walking around in snow and mush while wearing high heels. #1 its dangerous and #2 it'll wreck the shoes! I'd also like to have a pair of fun heels for the reception. SO excited!

Ceremony Shoes

I google image vintage lace shoes-after a few pages I spoted them.

The perfect shoes. I wanted them. I had to have them.

One problem tho, the website attached to the picture did not have the shoes. I continued my research trying to figure out the designer of the shoes by the picture. No luck. I texted my friend Amber who is a shoe fanatic-I thought if anyone could find them it'd be her. Still no luck.  I some how ended up on a site similar to this blog- a photographers blog. This picture of these perfect shoes, was taken by a photographer attending a wedding somewhere in Europe. Below the picture were a few comments from other brides in search of these shoes. Turns out they are genuine vintage on display in a museum. Great. Heart = Broken.

Then I found these little gems.

Again, I fell in love with them. The part that really got me hooked was when I found out you can have your wedding date printed on the sole of the shoe. How amazing is that. Not only are they perfect for the wedding but then they can sit on display in Marilyn's room. But there is a down side. You are able to get the date on the shoe because they are EACH HANDMADE. Oh and did I mention they are made in Europe. Again. So you can imagine what the price tag is for these ones. A girl can dream right?

I haven't given up hope yet. My shoes are out there somewhere, preferably in the US.  Apparently Europe is the only location that style is popular.

Between Ceremony and Reception

Since we picked a winter wedding I believe we need to stick with the theme. Boots! It'll be too cold to be walking around in heels so I wanted to have my uggs as in between shoes.

While looking at photographers I caught a photo of the wedding party wearing their uggs too. It was one of the cutest wedding party pics I had ever seen. So, I'm going to try and find a pair of knock off uggs for all the girls either in black or red. I hope to get some fun pictures with those. Plus it'll be fun!

Reception Shoes

These will be my party shoes. I'm thinking RED. Yep, that'll work! Fun, funky red high heels. I haven't found those yet. Possibly something similar to these...

Or funkier....I'll be sure to let you know when I find them!!

Decisions Decisions

I HATE making decisions. I don't like them. At all.

Wedding planning + Haley = Disaster

I didn't realize how many decisions I would have to make during this whole process. We are only a few months in and I am already frustrated. There are so many little things that you don't realize until it's placed in front of you.

If anyone out there would like to plan a wedding, let me know. It's all yours.

Lets start with this weeks frustration, bridesmaid dresses.

First, I thought I had found the dress I wanted online. I called a store to set up an appointment for the girls to try it on only to find out that it is no longer available. Awesome.

So instead I made an appointment at a store with a few designers I liked and brought a couple of the girls with. I was hoping to find one or get an idea as to what I was looking for. The girls were great and were rather quick with narrowing down the search. We ended up finding a dress that all the girls agreed on. I left there that day thinking we had found the dress in one stop. After a few days I kept going back to one other dress the girls had tried on. However, they are two completely different styles.

First Dress: Both the silhouette and the lace are similar to my dress

Second Dress: I love the back of this dress-I've never seen a bridesmaid dress like this.

OR I could go the route of each girl wearing a different dress along the same style line...

What do you think??

Engagement Session- Take 1

Tony and I had our first session of engagement pictures this past weekend. As all of you know I am obsessed with pictures and love taking them. So when it came time to discuss engagement photos and wedding photos I made it clear to Tony he was not to complain much. I originally scheduled this shoot a little over a month ago not thinking anything about weather. I wanted to capture a couple outdoor scenes during the winter since we are having a winter wedding. Little did I know I picked one of the coldest weekends ever. On top of that the Packers were playing one of the biggest games ever.

Luckily our photographer, Jennifer, braved the cold with us and we got the pictures done and even with time to spare before the game started. Here are a couple from the shoot...
